Athens State Enters Into 12 New Learning Partnerships During Spring Semester

Athens State University is pleased to announce new learning partnerships with 12 North Alabama organizations. These learning partnerships are designed to assist the employees of these organizations and their immediate family members in achieving their educational goals in career appropriate disciplines through accessible online and traditional classroom settings and an affordable, low-cost tuition structure.

Benefits of learning partnerships include a 10% tuition discount on all classes, waived application fee, and complimentary evaluation of previously earned educational credits and training/professional certifications/portfolio for consideration of transfer credit. These benefits extend to the parents, spouse, and children of the learning partner employee/member as well.

New Learning Partners include:

  • Albertville Chamber of Commerce, which has 530 members in the Albertville, Alabama community.
  • Athens Health and Rehabilitation, located in Athens, Alabama, offers an alternative to a traditional long-term care and rehabilitation facility.
  • Morgan County Schools
  • Limestone County Economic Development Association (LCEDA), whose mission is to create jobs in Limestone County, Alabama by recruiting new business and industry and by fostering the expansion of existing industries.
  • CB&S Bank, which was founded in 1906 and currently has over 50 branches in three states, all across the Southeast. They are the University’s first financial institution to join the learning partnership program.
  • Huntsville Utilities, who oversees the gas, water, and electric for Huntsville and the surrounding areas. They employ 780 individuals who work over an 800+ mile service area.
  • Guntersville Chamber of Commerce
  • Athens City Schools, which has been serving Athens, Alabama since 1909. The district is comprised of 8 schools, with 5,034 students.
  • Pryor Field Regional Airport
  • Redstone Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in Alabama with 27 branches throughout North Alabama.
  • Cullman Chamber of Commerce
  • Cullman County Schools
